1. Introduction
TapCut is a video editor designed for on-device editing. The app does not require an account for its core editing tools.
2. Data the app processes
TapCut processes videos, images, audio files, project files, and exported files that the user selects or creates. These files are used to provide trimming, arranging, text, audio, transitions, export, and recovery functions.
Permission Purpose
Camera Record a new video when the user chooses in-app recording.
Microphone Capture audio during recording or an audio feature that requires it.
Photos and video Select media files the user chooses to edit.
Audio Select audio files the user chooses to add to a project.
Internet System or embedded-library requirements; the reviewed build does not use accounts, project sync, or advertising services.
TapCut does not request contacts, location, messages, or call history.
3. Processing and sharing
Media and project files are processed inside the app and on the user’s device according to the installed version. The reviewed build does not include accounts, analytics, advertising, or automatic project uploads to a server. TapCut does not sell, rent, or share user media with advertisers or data brokers.
If a later release adds a third-party service, analytics, advertising, or synchronization, this policy and the Google Play disclosures will be updated before distributing that release.
4. Storage, retention, and deletion
Projects and exports remain on the user’s device until the user deletes them, removes the app, or removes the files from storage. Users can delete projects and generated files through the app’s available controls or the device’s file-management tools.
5. Security
Project files are stored locally. Users should protect their device and avoid sharing private media files. No technology can guarantee the security of the device itself or user-created backups.
6. Children’s privacy
TapCut is a general-purpose video editor and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians should supervise minors’ use as required by local law.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app’s functions or processing practices change. The revision date appears at the top of this page.
