NetPing Pro (“the app”) is a network diagnostics toolbox with no account, no analytics, and no sale of personal data. The app is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show banner, interstitial, app‑open and opt‑in rewarded ads. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may automatically collect and process:
your device’s IP address (and the approximate location derived from it);
device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID;
interactions with ads (views, taps) and basic diagnostic information.
This data is processed by Google as described in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. It is encrypted in transit (TLS). We (the developer) do not receive or store it.
Your choices. Where the law requires it (EEA, UK, Switzerland and other regions) the app asks for consent through Google’s consent message before personalized ads are shown; change it anytime in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device settings. In Settings → Ads you can watch one rewarded video to hide all ads for 24 hours; only the end time of that period is saved, on your device.
Network requests you initiate
When you run a tool, the app makes requests directly from your device:
Hosts / URLs you enter — ping, traceroute, telnet, port scan, DNS, HTTP, SSL, and WHOIS contact the address you type.
My IP — public IP + ISP/geo from ipwho.is.
DNS lookup — Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8).
Speed test — Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com).
WHOIS — registry servers over port 43.
These go directly from your device to those services. We operate no servers that receive or store this activity. Each third‑party service has its own privacy policy.
Data stored on your device
History, settings, and the monitor’s uptime log are stored locally only and are never uploaded. You can clear them anytime in the app.
Permissions
Internet / Network & Wi‑Fi state — to run tests and read Wi‑Fi details.
Notifications — to alert you on monitored host down/recovery.
Foreground service / wake lock — to keep background monitoring running.
Advertising ID (added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK) — for advertising as described above.
The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage.
Children
NetPing Pro is a general utility not directed at children. Ad content is limited to general‑audience (PG) material.
