Deckiva Privacy Policy

Summary: Deckiva is an on-device DJ mixer. Selected audio, optional live microphone input, and mix recordings are processed locally. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or automatic transfer of your audio or usage data to the Deckiva developer or an app server.
1. Scope
This policy explains how the Deckiva Android application accesses and handles information through the features described below. It replaces the previous privacy policy.
2. Information processed on your device
Deckiva processes the following information to provide the features you request:
- Selected audio: MP3, WAV, or FLAC files that you choose with Android's system file picker.
- Track details: file name, title, artist, duration, format, source document URI, local working-copy path, waveform values, estimated BPM, beat offset, and musical key derived on the device.
- DJ session data: loaded tracks, playback positions, crossfader and deck controls, cue points, hot cues, loops, and effect settings.
- Live microphone input: audio captured only while MIC is enabled after you grant microphone permission. It is mixed into the output on your device. Optional Talkover detects the microphone level locally and lowers the music while you speak.
- Mix recordings: a local WAV recording of the final output when you start the in-app recorder. If MIC is enabled while recording, the recording includes microphone audio. Saved recordings can also be exported as WAV, AAC/M4A, or MP3.
Deckiva keeps a private working copy of each imported track for playback and session restoration. Track details and session settings are stored in a local Room database. Live microphone input uses temporary memory buffers; it is saved as part of a mix only while the mix recorder is running.
3. Collection, transmission, and sharing
Deckiva does not automatically transmit user data to the developer or an app server, and does not request Android's Internet permission. It has no account system, advertising, analytics, or configured crash-reporting service, and does not sell user data.
When you stop a recording, Deckiva retains its private WAV file. On Android 10 and later, it also attempts to save a WAV copy in the media library under Music/Deckiva. You can export a saved recording in a supported format to a destination you choose through Android's document picker.
Other apps with appropriate access may open files in shared storage. A document provider, media backup service, browser, or email app that you choose may transfer data off your device under its own policy. Deckiva does not control those services. Opening an external policy link or sending a support email uses the external app you select.
4. Backups
You can explicitly export or import a JSON session/library backup through Android's document picker. This backup includes track metadata, source and local file references, waveform data, and session settings; it does not include audio files. The provider you select may store or sync the backup outside your device.
Deckiva disables Android backup for its private app data. On some devices, Android or the device manufacturer may handle device-to-device transfer independently of this setting. The developer does not receive or have access to data transferred by that system process.
5. Permissions and file access
Microphone permission is optional. Deckiva may ask for Android's RECORD_AUDIO permission during setup or when you enable MIC. You can skip or deny it and still import, play, mix, and record tracks without microphone input. Granting permission during setup alone does not start capture; enabling MIC starts live input.
Turn MIC off to stop microphone capture. Turning Talkover off only disables automatic music ducking; MIC can remain active and can still be heard in the output and included in recordings. You can revoke microphone permission in Android's app settings.
Deckiva uses Android's document picker to access audio and backup documents that you select, and to create exports. It does not request broad access to all files.
6. Retention and deletion
Imported working copies, session data, and private WAV recordings remain in the app's private storage. You can delete an imported track from the library and delete a private recording from the recordings list. Clearing Deckiva's app data or uninstalling the app removes its private local data.
Deleting a private recording does not delete its copy in Music/Deckiva or any other exported copy. Original audio documents, exported recordings, and JSON backups may remain after uninstalling. Delete those files through your Files or media app, or the storage provider you chose.
7. Security
Deckiva relies on Android's application sandbox, runtime microphone permission, and system document picker to limit access. No storage or software system can be guaranteed completely secure; keep your device updated and protected.
8. Children
Deckiva is a general-purpose audio tool and is not directed specifically to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated when Deckiva's features or data practices change. The effective date will be updated, and material changes will be reflected in the app or store listing as appropriate.
